Biography
Keiko was born in Tokyo, living and working in London.
She worked and contributed photographs and articles to Japanese magazines/newspapers before studying at London Metropolitan University for a BA in Fine Art in 2007. She is interested in the interface between the areas of documentary, landscape and portrait photography.
Her primary media is analogue photographic montage, made inside the camera. By threading together images inside the camera, she is able to investigate ideas of repetition and composition, as well as the narrative that can be implied by a sequence of events on a timeline. She has been collaborating with musicians and other artists. Her work and collaboration works have been exhibited in London, Bath, Cardiff, Inverness, Manchester and Zagreb.
